Mosaics

At Monte de Peral you will find several mosaics made by Marianne. Upon request, she can give a base course for mosaic making.

 

Walking tours

Within the region there are several marked walking trails. Walking along the margins of the Alqueva lake, through the Alentejo landscape or discovering the Menhirs.

 

Bicycle tours

You can explore the surroundings of Monte do Peral by bicycle, cycle to the Alqueva lake and the neighbouring villages. We have 2 BTT’s for hire (€10 per bike per day).

 

The white gold

Alandroal, Borba, Estremoz, Sousel and Vila Viçosa provide the possibility to descend into the vast marble quarries, visit underground mining tunnels, factories and sculpture studios.

Wineries

The Alentejo is famous for its wine and gastronomy. There are several wineries within the area which you can visit.

 

 

Culture

Visit the many historical (world heritage) cities such as Évora, Elvas, Monsaraz, the Royal Palace in Vila Viçosa, the potteries in Sâo Pedro do Corval and the wine town of Redondo.

 

Water sports

On the Alqueva lake you can windsurf, canoe, paddle boat, water ski and enjoy a boat trip.

 

 

Star-gazing

This region is part of the UNESCO “Dark Sky” project because of its exceptional visible starry sky.
